Songs of light and inspiration for the season.

Thank you for supporting our annual concert.

It was an event we will never forget!

We are proud to announce that Eleanor Epstein received the 2017 Hallel V'Zimrah Award at the 28th Annual North American Jewish Choral Festival.  The award recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to the world of Jewish choral music.  Previous recipients include Theodore Bikel, Gil Adema, Dr. Ruth Westheimer and Elie Wiesel.  For the past 41 years, Eleanor has made her mark as the conductor of Zemer Chai. She has dedicated her life to preserving and promoting high quality Jewish choral music.  We are exceedingly proud to recognize her vision and leadership.  The Festival was held July 16-20 at the Hudson Valley Resort in New York and the award was bestowed at a celebratory presentation on the evening of July 19th.  Members of Zemer Chai sang in her honor and many of her choral arrangements were performed.  Mazal Tov, Eleanor!

Zemer Chai is proud of our Artistic Director, Eleanor Epstein,

for receiving the

2018 Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in the Arts

from the Montgomery County Executive

"When Eleanor founded Zemer Chai in 1976, she set out to make music that not only lifts hearts and voices, but enhances the world by unifying individuals through singing together, by sharing musical cultures that break down barriers, by creating new music to be sung and played throughout the world, and by infusing her audiences with her joy of music.

Eleanor lives her belief that, “Singing is an immediate way to build bridges between people.”
